The Seamstress

One of the first loves of my life - sewing, there just has to be a range of sewing items to help the seamstress make up those beautiful gowns for a very lucky bride.

The mannequin perfectly displays a bridal gown allowing for a lovely sweep at the back. It isn’t always the rule to just divide by twelve for twelfth scale. Other issues are sometimes necessary such as perspective. I never create a miniature adult doll less than 6in tall.

After searching for the perfect miniature mannequin of a suitable height during the writing of my book, I was so disappointed to find that all the readily available ones on the market were just a little too short to best display a sweeping bridal gown. I decided therefore that the best thing to do was make my own. With the help of Marc at Anglesey Dolls houses to form the routed base for me, I sculpted a dainty body from clay and sent the result to Sue of Sue Cook miniatures who now makes the bodies for me with her beautiful quality ivory plaster.

Not only my best selling item but also the best little tool on the market for miniature dressmaking.
