The Enchanted Cottage

The Enchanted Cottage
The Enchanted Cottage was for many years the place where you could simply pull up a chair, rest your weary bones and enjoy a lovely cup of tea and a cake before taking a gentle stroll through the cottage. I have lost count of the great many  friends and fans who contacted me over the years to tell me how much they enjoyed the contents of the first set of three brochures: The Enchanted Cottage, where you could find a whole host of miniature treasures not forgetting the bears in the attic, the second was Willow Creek Mill for all your beautiful craft requirements and finally The Bridal Salon which had everything you could possibly need for your miniature bridal scenes and salons. Later came the Wedding Cake brochure and Crabtree and Evelyn followed by the Tussie Mussie with real samples and information about all the fabrics available. Oh it was a beautiful time in my life and I enjoyed writing those brochures so very much.  Life was so - well - enchanting for want of a better word.

The work involved however began to take its toll and sadly, the door of the cottage closed a few years ago but that was not the end, it very rarely is in the best of fairytales. When the good Lord closes a door...somewhere he opens a window. How true that is. Following the best selling success of the Dolls' House Wedding book, my plan was to produce a second miniatures book with some advanced gown designs and approached the publisher who seemed to welcome the idea. Then came the barrage of deadlines - well I knew I possibly couldn't keep to them due to health concerns and so abandoned that idea. There was still the possibility of articles and periodicals from the past but then out of the blue - and to this day I do not know from whence it came - I had the idea to juxtapose the two loves of my life....the cottage brochures I loved to write which were so well received together with my love for designing gown patterns. Problem solved. No deadline stress whilst offering beloved brochures and gown designs.

Where does Jenny fit into all this?......well, she is I, it is my middle name and as the cottage is no more and I can't really still call this little hobby of mine a cottage industry....enter the wren. I do hope you enjoy collecting my brochures for many years to come and additionally, keep checking the Offers page for little treats and bits and bobs. Here's to a very happy future of Jenny Wren designing.
